We offer a multitude of print types - Which one is right for you?

Digital Printing -
At Designer Prints we specialize in large format digital printing on fabrics, and flat goods with a wide range of ink types and color gamuts. This gives us the ability to print on a wide range of substrates from silk to cotton and wall paper to outdoor signage and point of purchase displays. Our systems allow us to print directly on most substrates which are especially useful in not having to remount the work on board after it has been printed. It allows us to achieve a very high rate of color definition, vibrancy and penetration on fabrics and flat work.

Digital printing on fabrics has opened new opportunities for designers, merchandisers and salespersons. By printing as little as a small piece of fabric, or as much as needed to sew a garment or even more yards of your design, you can obtain a sample strike-off, a garment to show or multiple samples for your sales reps. You can also print your Banners, Flags, and Signs in our fabrics, and any other type of graphic or art reproduction would also be well suited. With digital graphic and textile printing you do not need to create screens to print your sample yardage, signs or banners, you can further use your files when you decide which designs go into production. As you can see this is not only time effective but also cost effective.

We utilize many specialized ICC profiles for color matching as well as specialize in Octachrome and Ultra-Fi color matching for truly stunning color fidelity and smooth tonal gradations on the same print. We can also match any pantone color fo r truly superior printing results.

Digital printing does not use film but digital imaging technology instead. That means that your text and graphics can be sent directly from your computer desktop to the press, eliminating the need for typesetting and making plates. This solution offers a high range of flexibility and reproductive quality while allowing you the widest range of colors and photographic quality reproduction.

Digital printing offers a lot without the second hand loss sometimes associated when plates or film have to be created. Think of it like making a tape of one of your favorite cds. Every copy of that tape loses a little bit of clarity each time it's made. It also offers the ability to print multiple colors on materials like silk without damaging the fabric. This cannot be acomplished with traditional screen printing, and you would not be able to print more than one color.

Rotary Printing-

Rotary Screen Printing is different from screen printing the traditional way with a flat screen. Rotary printing is done with a cylindrical screen that rotates in a fixed position. The machine can contain up to 12 of these cylinders representing a different color in the design. In traditional screen printing as many people think of it a flat screen that is raised and lowered over the same print location.

The advantage to using this process is tremendous for large amounts of fabric and also the penetration of the colors is very different. Another issue that is eliminated with this process is a constant edge definition without worrying about the off contact of the screens in a traditional up and down situation. The speed at which the machine can print varies but on an average it can print 100-425 ft per min.

To sum it up Rotary printing is the most economical and fastest way to produce large runs of fabric. You can think of it as a continuous, stepless image-transfer method to your fabric. The position of the screen and the position of the squeegee within the screen combine to provide both the screen-flooding and image-transfer functions in a single smooth operation that repeats with every revolution of the screen. Thus providing you the customer with brilliant, seamless repeated patterns.

Flat Screen Printing -
Flat Screen printing is arguably the most versatile of all printing processes. At Designer Prints we use it to print on a wide variety of substrates, including paper, paperboard, plastics, glass, metals, fabrics, and many other materials.. Some common products we screen print include posters, labels, decals, signage, and all types of fabric. The advantage of screen-printing over other print processes is that the press can print on substrates of any shape, thickness and size.

A significant characteristic of screen printing is that a greater thickness of the ink can be applied to the substrate than is possible with other printing techniques. This allows for some very interesting effects that are not possible using other printing methods. Because of the simplicity of the application process, a wider range of inks and dyes are available for use in screen printing than for use in any other printing process.

Fusion Printing-
We are pioneers in this unique field of printing geared towards textiles. Simply put it is printing a digital textile and doing a second process such as screen printing or burn out to give the textile texture and a completely unique look and feel. The second or third process can involve a variety of different inks and screen printed chemicals.

We believe in one thing, that's keeping it simple for you.
